Finance Enquiry
Your Details - Step 1 of 3

What happens after you send your details

Once your enquiry reaches us, a broker reads through what you have told us and works out which lenders on our panel are worth approaching for your situation. Lenders take genuinely different views on things like employment type, deposit size, credit history and the age of an asset, so the first job is narrowing the field rather than filling in an application.

We will usually come back with a few follow-up questions, because the detail matters. A contract date, whether a vehicle is being bought privately or through a dealer, or how long an ABN has been trading can each change which lenders are suitable. From there we explain the options that fit, what each one would need from you, and where the trade-offs sit. Nothing is submitted to a lender until you have agreed on a direction, and there is no obligation to proceed.

What to have ready

You do not need paperwork to start the conversation. The form above is enough. When you are ready to take it further, having these on hand tends to make the process smoother:

  • Photo identification, such as a driver licence or passport.
  • Recent evidence of income. Payslips if you are employed, or tax returns and financial statements if you are self-employed.
  • A rough picture of your existing commitments, including loans, credit cards, and any lease or rental payments.
  • Details of what you are financing, such as a vehicle description, a contract of sale, or a property address.
  • For business applications, your ABN details along with recent bank or accounting statements.

If some of that is not available yet, note it in the form. Missing documents do not stop us having a useful first conversation.

The finance we can look at

SB Finance works across both consumer and commercial lending, with access to more than 40 lenders. If you already know which category you fall into, these pages go into more detail:

Not certain which one applies? Choose the closest option in the form and we will work it out with you.

Why start with an assessment rather than a lender

Approaching a single lender tells you what that one lender will do. It does not tell you whether another lender would take a more favourable view of the same circumstances, and each application you lodge is recorded on your credit file. An assessment is a way of understanding where you stand before anything is submitted.

It also means one conversation instead of several. We gather your information once, then approach the lenders whose policies actually match your situation. You can read about the brokers you would be dealing with on our Meet the Team page, or get in touch if you would rather talk it through first.

Estimate your repayments

Move the sliders for an indicative monthly repayment. Final rates are subject to lender assessment.

Indicative rate shown by default — slide to adjust. Estimates are for illustration only, are not a loan offer or quote, and do not include fees or charges. Actual rates and repayments are subject to lender assessment and eligibility criteria. (4%–25% p.a.)
